In March, 2011, the Township of East Buffalo and the Borough of Lewisburg created the Buffalo Valley Regional Police Department. The regional department is made up of the officers and assets of both municipal police departments. The regional police are governed by a commission made up of elected and appointed officials from both the Township and the Borough. The regional department was created to eliminate some duplication; to allow for more specialization, and to provide more flexibility in assignments of officers. |

The Municipal Authority attempts to resolve problems related to the community's sewer needs. Assists in planning for and, when feasible, obtaining financing for the acquisition or construction of public sewer systems to be leased to and operated by the Township. Also, looks for alternative means for providing such services. |
