A brief summary of East Buffalo Township Code of Ordinances, Chapter 20, Part 2, Recycling of Solid Waste (Ordinance No. 159, November 11, 1991):
REQUIREMENTS FOR RESIDENTS:
Separate clear glass, brown glass, green glass and newspapers and dispose in accordance with applicable ordinances, regulations or laws.
Separate leaf, grass, tree and shrub waste from all other solid waste and dispose of the same by composting or some other means authorized by appropriate ordinance, regulation or law.
REQUIREMENTS FOR COMMERCIAL, MUNICIPAL or INSTITUTIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS:
All occupants of commercial, municipal or institutional establishments and those persons conducting community activities within the Township shall separate clear glass, brown glass, green glass, newspapers, high grade office paper and corrugated cardboard and dispose of in accordance with appropriate ordinance, regulation or law.
PENALTIES
Violations are enforced by an action brought before a District Judge in the same manner provided for the enforcement of summary offenses under the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure. The fine for a violation shall not exceed $1,000.00 and/or imprisonment to the extent allowed by law for the punishment of summary offenses.
